Our Mission

We dream of local african leaders discipled and empowered to lead people to Jesus, and see them gathered and multiply. We dream of this beginning here in South Africa, but also we, with our community are committed to training and sending long term teams into the nations within Africa to reach unreached and unengaged people groups.

But how does this happen?

Our lives have been completely changed by following Jesus, and we want to see other people find the life and freedom that comes from following him.

What we desire to see is people of every tribe and every tongue worshipping Jesus like the picture John writes in the Bible

..I saw a huge crowd, too huge to count. Everyone was there—all nations and tribes, all races and languages. And they were standing, dressed in white robes and waving palm branches, standing before the Throne and the Lamb and heartily singing: Salvation to our God on his Throne! Salvation to the Lamb! (Revelation 7:9-17)”

Jesus tells us that everyone can get involved in seeing his great master plan fulfilled;

“..Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:19-20)

We want to disciple people into a relationship with God, and not leave them there. We believe the life God made us to live is more than a decision, but a road to be walked down. Jesus teaches how to live this life and so we find his life in our obedience to his words.

Erm..get more practical, how does this happen?

We are working with local people to train and disciple them to start discipleship relationships often through “Discovery Bible Studies”, these D.B.S’, as we call them are simple bible studies that happen everywhere, in homes, workplaces, on the street, under a tree. In discovery bible studies everyone contributes and shares what they see in the verses they read, and then shares how they intend to begin to obey these truths in their lives after they leave the study.

Is that it?

Well, no not quite, the DBS has about 7 questions and they cover all the ingredients we believe are essential to healthy church community;

  • Worship
  • Prayer
  • Community
  • Reading Scripture
  • Accountability
  • Evangelism / Sharing

What Else do you do?

We are currently involved in a range of ways in serving the poor in our community in practical ways (such as supporting children from child headed households in after school projects). While we always serve anyone however hungry for Jesus they are, our desire is to see the people we serve practically connect to the life of the Kingdom and become involved in a relationship with God through following Jesus in the midst of community.
