Teaching and Training with the Centre for Christian Formation
We mentor, train and teach other leaders who are engaged in the mission of God.
Put simply, Everyone imitates the vision of God they have.
We help people deepen their ability to know God in deeper ways so that their lives reflect His character and goodness in ministry and mission.
Over the past decade of discipleship ministry, it has been the sustaining joy of our work to see the incredible change possible when someone follows Jesus and receives God’s Spirit. Broken people become whole and hopeless people receive vision for their own lives and the lives of those around them.
Jesus was not content simply to save us for heaven, he also recruits us to be ambassadors of His kingdom that is both at hand and still to come. As we seek to speak and act in Jesus name the integrity and credibility of our mission revolves around how we understand and therefore present who God is.
Our mentoring, teaching and training is focussed on those that lives as disciple makers, trainers and missionaries and helping them deepen their appreciation of the goodness and beauty of the God revealed by Jesus Christ.
Over the years of seeing local leaders grow and cross cultural leaders go we have recognised that the fruitfulness of their ministry is rooted in their vision of God and understanding of the Bible.
“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”

Some of our current projects
M.A. in Christian Formation and Discipleship
We have been serving the M.A. Christian Formation degree track by contributing to curriculum as well as walking alongside the students personal growth for an M.A. degree track in Christian Formation.
This degree is aimed predoiminatly at leaders within YWAM who already have established ministry and leadership for over seven years. We have the privilege of serving leaders of discipleship schools, missions bases as well as those engaged in teaching and training many others. We have students who serve in Brazil, India, China, Europe, South Africa, and the Pacific Islands.
The curriculum helps these missional leader gain an indepth understanding of the discipleship process by weaving together understandings of biblical theology, human development and the significance of communities and practises.
The M.A. runs for 2 years and consists of 6 modules which end up in the students running a research project and writing a thesis paper.
Teleios Programme
While serving more established leaders in the M.A. degree, we also recognised the great need for young training leaders in YWAM's DTS. The DTS course seeks to expose young people to who God is and develop their experience of making Him known. We created a curriculum track that led the leaders of these training to further deepen their appreciation for the story of God from Genesis to Revelation recognising it's practical significance for developing a framework for discipleship.
While young leaders inevitably imitate the leaders they have been impressed by, we saw the hunger for them to begin to develop frameworks of their own that come into play once they encounter the many new cultural situations that they have not seen other leaders model for them. What is required is the beginning of a biblical framework for discipleship that allows them to respond faithfully and pastorally to whatever situation these training contexts create for them.
The Teleios Programme runs for 9 months, with 3 onsite intensives and study load that allows the participants to continue to carry their school leading roles so that what they learn can be immediately put into practise.
